Oregonian: Readers Respond - Portland’s parks are economic assets

"The proposed levy funds operations to keep our parks clean, green and safe. It also funds urgent repairs while the city identifies ways to address longer-term capital improvement needs. Without the levy, Portland Parks & Recreation faces a 42% budget cut next year. Fewer open pools, community center closures, fewer park rangers and cuts to critical maintenance and programs are real threats."
